Crochet Scarf for Him Pattern

Scarf for Him

Skill Level: Beginner

Measurements:

Width 6.5″ x Length 84″
Gauge – 15 sts, 11 rows = 4″x4″

Materials:

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Tweeds
- 2 Gray Heather
- Off White
Hook: I – 5.5mm
Scissors
Yarn Needle

Stitches:

ch – Chain
sc – Single Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
st/sts – Stitch/Stitches
sk – Skip

Special Stitch:

Wide Checkers

This stitch is worked by repeating five single crochets and five double crochets across the row. Then on the next row, you offset the stitches. So you single crochet in all the double crochets and double crochet in all the single crochets.

Pattern Instructions:

Start with Heather Gray Ch 25 for the foundation.

1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the next 3 chains, *1dc in the next 5 chains, 1sc in the next 5 chains. Repeat from the * to the end of the row, turn.
2: ch3, sk the first st, 1dc in the next 4sts, *1sc in the next 5sts, 1dc in the next 5sts; Repeat from the * to the end of the row working the last dc in the turning chain, turn.
3: ch1, sk the first st, 1sc in the next 4sts, *1dc in the next 5sts, 1sc in the next 5sts: Repeat from the * to the end of the row working the last sc in the turning chain, turn.
