Changing yarn color in crochet, is the same no matter what stitch you’re using. Single crochet, Double crochet, Half double crochet, or the Triple crochet stitch.

When you reach the point in your project where you want to change the color of yarn, work the last crochet stitch up to the last step. Then, wrap the new yarn around the hook, with a tail about five inches long. Pull the new color through to complete the last stitch. Continue crocheting as usual with the new color.
