Single Crochet Stitch

The single crochet is the most basic of all the stitches. Almost all stitches are variations of this stitch.

Row 1

Begin with a length of chains.

Step 1: Insert the hook in the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull a loop through.

Step 2: Yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 in each chain to the end.

Row 2

Step 1: Chain 1 (the turning chain does not count as first stitch), turn your work, single crochet in each stitch to the end of the row.

Repeat Step 1 for each additional row.
