Crocheting in the Round

Crocheting in the round is how you make circles and crochet projects like hats and gloves. The first step to working in the round is to create a ring that you crochet the first row around. Then each row after has increases to make the circle larger. When you work in the round, you don’t turn your work after each row.

Starting a Circle

Two ways to start a circle in crochet. First, making a small chain and joining with a slip stitch to make a loop. Second, the Magic Circle, which a lot of people prefer because it has no hole in the center.

Increasing in the Round

Increase in the round, is adding stitches so that the circle gets larger with each row.
