Fourth of July Throw Pillow

Fourth of July Throw Pillow Pattern.

Summer is here and the Fourth of July is just around the corner! I don’t know about you but I’m ready for BBQs, get-togethers, and hugs from my friends and family.  This pillow is easy to make and will add just the right patriotic touch to your home décor.

Fourth of July Crochet Pattern

I love this pillow! Mixing the two different colors of reds and blues really adds to the charm of this patriotic pillow. Plus, the bobbles as stars are just too cute!

July is just around the corner, I wanted to create a pattern that you could complete in a night or two. This pattern works up quickly, once you get the hang of the bobbles. They can be a bit tricky; I’ve included a video explaining how to work the bobble stitch and how to do the color change.

Pillow Crochet Pattern

Materials

Gauge

  • 11 stitches x 9 rows in a 4″x 4″ square

Notes:

The pillow body is made using two strands of yarn. When the pattern calls to change color on the red and white rows, change the yarn color in the last stitch of the row. The turning chain does not count as the first stitch.

Bobble Stitch:

The bobble stitch is a cluster of five double crochets together. The bobble stitch is worked on the wrong side, so it pops out on the right side of your work. Here’s how to do it…

Bobble Stitch: yarn over, insert your hook into stitch, pull up a loop, and pull through 2 loops. Then, *yarn over again, insert the hook into the same stitch, pull up a loop and pull through 2 loops. Repeat from * 3 more times until you have 6 loops on your hook. Then yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on the hook.

The video below will show you how to make the bobble stitch and explain how to do the color change.

  1. The link to the free pattern shows a critical error, and I am not able to open it. Is there another link you could post or send? As a Gold Star mother, I would love to make this pillow cover and share them. Thank you.

    1. Hi Lisa, I wrote this pattern as a guest post on someone else’s blog. Unfortunately, I think that blog is no longer active. I will do my best to have the pattern up on my page soon. I’ll let you know when it is posted.
