Beginner Stitches

The half double crochet falls in between a single crochet and a double crochet in height.

Row 1

Begin with a length of chains.

Step 1: Yarn over and insert the hook in the third chain from the hook.

Step 2: Pull a loop through, you’ll now have three loops on the hook. Yarn over again and pull through all three loops on the hook.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 to the end of the row.

Row 2

Step 1: Chain 2 (turning chain does not count as the first stitch) turn your work, one half double in each stitch to the end of the row.

Repeat step one for each additional row.
