The lemon peel crochet stitch is made by alternating two of the beginner stitches. The single and double crochet stitches. The height difference in the two stitches, makes a slightly bumpy texture that resembles the skin of a lemon. Hence the name! Lets get started…

Start by making a chain with a multiple of any odd number.
1. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook.
2. Double crochet in the next chain.
3. Single crochet in the next chain, double crochet in the next chain.
4. Repeat step 3 to the end of the row. Your row should end with a double crochet.
5. Chain 1, then turn your work to start the next row.
6. Single crochet in the first stitch, double crochet in the next. Repeat alternating single crochet and double crochet to the end of the row. Ending with a double crochet in the last stitch.
7. For each additional row chain 1, then turn your work. Then repeat step 6, alternating single and double crochet stitches across the row. Always start with a single crochet in the first stitch and end with a double crochet in the last stitch.
