This flower is not only super cute, but it uses all of the basic beginner stitches. It’s also great for using up scraps of yarn.
Supplies:
Yarn: 2 colors of worsted weight (4)
H hook 5mm
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Stitches:
ch – Chain
slst – Slip Stitch
sc – Single Crochet
hdc – Half Double Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
tr – Treble Crochet
Summer Flower Pattern Instructions
ch4, slst in first ch made to make a ring 1. ch3, 11 dc into ring (12) change yarn color in last dc st join with a slst in top of chain 2. ch1, [sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc] in the next st, *slst, [sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, ,hdc, sc] in same stitch, repeat from * 3 more times, slst in last stitch Fasten Off and weave in ends.
Notes:
Change to second yarn color in the last double crochet stitch
Then, slip stitch in to the top of the chain 3.
Now, in the next stitch work a [sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc] all in the same stitch to create a petal.
Slip stitch in the next stitch. Repeat until you have six petals, slst into the ch1 to join. Then fasten off and weave in ends on the back side of the flower.
