Alternate Single Crochet Stitch

The Alternate Single crochet stitch is made by working a single crochet in the front and back loops only of the previous row.

Alternate Single Crochet Stitch

Supplies:

Hook: H 5mm

First, make a chain in multiples of two plus one. For this swatch I’m starting with a chain of seventeen.

Alternate Single Crochet

Row 1: Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain to the end of the row. Then, turn your work.

Alternate Single Crochet

Row 2: Chain one (turning chain doesn’t count as a stitch), *single crochet in the front loop of the first stitch, single crochet in the back loop of the next stitch; repeat from the * to the end of the row. Turn your work.

Alternate Single Crochet Stitch

For each additional row, repeat row two.
