How to Crochet a Blanket for Beginners

How to crochet a blanket for beginners.

Before we crochet a blanket, I’m going to answer a few questions that beginners often ask.

Commonly asked questions

Is crocheting a blanket easy?

Yes, crocheting a blanket can be easy. You have to few things before you start. Such as, materials needed, and the size blanket you want to make.
This post will give you all the information you need crochet a blanket!

What do you need to crochet a blanket?

You’ll need yarn, a crochet hook, scissors and a yarn/darning needle.

How much yarn do I need?

This is a doozie of a question. There is no concrete answer, because determining how much yarn you’ll need depends on the weight of the yarn and stitched used. There are formulas to figure out of much yarn is needed, but as a beginner, I don’t want to overwhelm you with that. Instead I recommend finding and easy beginner pattern,(like the one at the end of this post) it will include the yarn weight used and how much is needed.

What size crochet hook do I need?
Again refer to your pattern and use the hook size recommended by the designer. This will help you in having your blanket turn out the right size.
